What types of classes do you offer?
At Alpha Wolves we aim to provide the complete training experience for our members, with the freedom to choose what they would like to work on from Monday to Saturday. We offer three class types that rotate throughout the week. Alpha Strength, Alpha Muay Thai & Alpha Hybrid. These classes incorporate the below:
- Cardiovascular health
- Body fat loss
- Core strength
- More info on what the classes involve? Check out the “Classes” link
We also offer one on one personal training as well as Kids and Junior Classes.
How many people will be there in my class?
Our classes will hold a maximum of 15 members at any one time.
We highly recommend reserving your spot in your desired class ahead of time. You can book your desired class time(s) a week in advanced as to not miss your spot for the training week ahead. This can be booked online. Please visit the Class Times section.
Will there be other beginners?
And we encourage it. At Alpha Wolves, although you may be in a class environment, every workout with us is YOURS! We want you to have piece of mind knowing you can train and learn at your own pace and be supported by our highly experienced trainers to deliver you a fun, safe and memorable workout.
Do I need a training partner?
No not at all.
However, some our classes are designed around partner training so we would recommend a training partner/buddy if you would be more comfortable training with a familiar face.
Do I need experience?
As long as you are willing to learn new skills, have fun and occasionally be physically tested then you will fit right in. All workouts can be modified to suit our members individual needs – From High level athlete to your average Joe.
How many classes per week do you think I should attend?
How many sessions you attend per week should be determined by the following:
- Current physical condition: If you are currently in good shape, well rested and are used to strenuous activity with no current medical issues, there should be no reason why you couldn’t attend a class a day at Alpha Wolves.
- Exercise history: If you haven’t engaged in regular exercise in some time, the body has an unfortunate side effect of de-conditioning. The old saying “If you don’t use it, you lose it” applies here. Objects that were once light to lift now feel heavy. After performing strenuous tasks, muscles now ache where as they wouldn’t in the past. The fortunate thing is the body has a fantastic memory and with a bit of grit and hard work, your body will bounce right back. In this case we would recommend 2 – 3 classes per week As your fitness increases and your body adapts to your new training regime we would recommend increasing classes per week.
- Any pre-existing medical conditions: If you have any past/current injuries or existing medical conditions that may effect your training, we ask that you provide a letter of clearance from your GP before undertaking Classes/Personal Training with Alpha Wolves.
- What are your current fitness/physical goals?: Do you have a clear idea on what you would like to achieve with your training? Lose weight/Increase strength? Improve athletic ability/general fitness & wellbeing? Achieve peak physical condition for an upcoming event (Marathon/Wedding/Off season Training/Reunion)? All of the above? Your individual situation and goals will determine the most realistic answer to this question.
Please do not hesitate to contact our head trainer Matt via email or phone for a general assessment to help you get underway.
How long are the classes?
Generally classes run for 45 minutes, but please allow for the full hour. Arriving 10 minutes early is recommended.
Do you offer group AND private classes?
All of our trainers are are highly experienced, registered personal trainers.
At Alpha Wolves we have designated times to book in 1-on-1 PT/Kickboxing sessions or group 1-on-1 PT/Kickboxing sessions. For those wanting to take their training to the next level, refine their kickboxing skills/technique or to kickstart an individualised program to suit their health and fitness goals.
Please click here for Personal training/1-on-1 kickboxing time availabilities in our timetable or contact us to discus further via email or phone.
Do I have to be in shape before I start?
Not at all!
All classes are designed to support any body type and skill level. Each workout is YOURS and we only encourage you to train at the best of your own ability to gain the personalised results you are after.
Will I be sore after attending an Alpha Wolves Class?
As with most new types of exercise, your body is adjusting to something unknown.
If you are putting in your best effort, then you will leave the classes knowing that your body is working away, strengthening and toning parts that may not have been touched before!
So after a class, over the next day or so muscle pain may show up and can affect anyone, regardless of your fitness level. But don’t be put off. This type of muscle stiffness or aching is normal, doesn’t last long, and is actually a sign of your improving fitness.
The next time you perform the same activity, or exercise at the same intensity, there will be less soreness and a faster recovery.
I have a current medical/physical condition. Can I still attend classes?
If you have any past/current injuries or existing medical conditions that may effect your training, we ask that you provide a letter of clearance from your GP before undertaking Classes/Personal Training with Alpha Wolves. If you are concerned or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact head trainer Matt via email or phone.
Is training safe/Will I get hurt?
All of the classes are completely safe and are run by highly experienced and registered personal trainers. All classes with the kickboxing element are ‘non-contact’, focusing on fitness rather than fight. (There will be allocated times outside of regular classes for those who wish take it to the next level and engage in semi contact sparring).
Whilst all due care is taken, accidents can happen and training is still at your own risk and physical capability.
What is the minimum age for the classes?
